If you're experiencing challenges, seeking personal growth, or navigating life transitions, therapy can provide valuable support.
In addition, as a therapist who has also had a long career in education I bring a unique set of skills if you are hoping to address issues surrounding academics, work, pathway planning or career transitions.
Our initial consultation helps determine if my tailored approach aligns with your needs.
During the first session, our goal is to get to know one another so that I may gain a deeper insight into your therapy objectives. By the end of this session, you'll have a clear understanding of how I can support you and what the therapeutic process will entail.
Consistent participation is recommended to maximize the benefits of therapy. Typically, it's advised to attend sessions weekly to start and then taper off as you see the changes you take place between sessions. I try when possible to find a consistent time slot that works for you so you can easily schedule care into your routine.
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, but you may have coverage through your extended health care plan. Check with your insurance plan to make sure.

I utilize evidence-based practices and take an integrative approach. The modalities I use are: Acceptance commitment therapy(ACT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally focused therapy( EFT) for individuals and couples.
I am also trained in Brain Spotting, a transformative trauma therapy grounded in the principles of neurobiology. Brain Spotting works on the premise that our eyes can reveal inner thoughts, emotions, and trauma. It is a very flexible modality and can be used for long standing emotional issues that we can not solve cognitively. Brain spotting can get to the root of emotional blocks that impede your overall functioning and well being.
For individuals sessions typically last 50 minutes, providing ample time for exploration, skill-building, and reflection. However, session duration may vary based on specific needs and therapeutic goals. Some brain spotting sessions can last 80 minutes.
For couples sessions are typically 80 minutes in length so attachment and emotional issues can be deeply explored and couples can gain insight into their relationship dynamics.
Confidentiality is paramount. We adhere to strict ethical standards, ensuring your privacy is protected. Our commitment to a safe and confidential space is fundamental to building trust and fostering a therapeutic alliance.
I require at least 48 hours for appointment cancellations. Appointments canceled after that time will be subject to 50% of the session cost.

If after the 48 hour time restriction you can call me at 226-779-7726 or email me at rebecca@bridgehillcounselling.com. If I am able to fill your session time I will waive the 50% fee.
